Your files are yours. We don’t train on them. Word, PowerPoint and Excel files never even reach us — they’re unzipped, translated and rebuilt in your browser. PDFs are the exception: they render on our server and auto-delete from storage within 24 hours. To delete your data sooner, email [email protected].
Word, PowerPoint and Excel: no. The file is processed in your browser. The text inside it passes through our translation proxy on its way to the model, and we don’t store it. PDF: yes — a PDF has to be rendered on our server to keep its layout, and it auto-deletes within 24 hours.
Pages are for PDFs only. Everything else — text, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, subtitles, app and game files — spends words. Translate a 40-page Word document and it costs words, not pages; your pages stay reserved for PDFs. Hit a limit and nothing breaks — that action pauses until your next cycle or an upgrade.
By how much text we actually translate. For documents and full paragraphs it works out to roughly one meter-word per word in your file. Each separate translation also carries a minimum of a few hundred words — so translating ten single lines one by one drains far more than pasting those ten lines in at once. On the free plan, spend your 2,000 on one real document instead of lots of tiny tests.
Modern Standard Arabic, in the register you choose: Standard, or the official-document vocabulary and month names used in Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, the Levant or the Gulf. It is a register setting, not a spoken-dialect setting — the Arabic stays Fusha.
Because most tools treat Arabic as locale #27 and it shows — broken letter-joining, mangled right-to-left layout, numbers in the wrong place. linglo was built Arabic-first: joined letters, correct right-to-left, and numbers where they belong.
Documents: PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx), text and Markdown. Strings and subtitles: JSON, XLIFF, Apple .strings, Android XML, Flutter .arb, PO, YAML, CSV, SRT and VTT. You get the same format back.
Up to 50 MB per file, and up to 500 pages for a PDF. You can run 3 jobs at once.
On Lifetime you plug in your own translation-model API key and pay your provider directly for usage, while linglo handles the layout and the Arabic. No markup, no metered bill from us.
Anytime, from your dashboard. Upgrades are prorated; downgrades take effect at your next renewal. Lifetime is, well, for life.
Email [email protected], or use the “Report a problem” button inside the app — it reaches the person who built it. That is one person, so please be specific: the file type, what you expected, and what you got.
